Gotta admit I'm not familiar with the opponent, but I'm assuming that after the near disaster of his previous fight this is going to be a clear cut morale booster. Hopefully there are some other half decent fights on the card too.

I can never understand the thrill of boxing ... its not that I'm particularly bothered about the gore.

But why get all worked up to watch something, ya get the chips and dip in, make the coffee ... and then its all over in ten minutes.

Rolling Eyes Worse than crap sex, man Rolling Eyes

Without trying to be offensive the above post is actually a load of shit and I hope 99.9% of the forum agree.

Without having to give you a lesson about boxing the REFEREE, has a duty to protect the fighters. If you want to see blood and gore go to iraq and fight, if not, I dont know, become a mid wife or something.

As for Khan getting "stupid" competition (hmmm, what? you mean IQ of less than 14 or what? care to elaborate?) , hes a young lad whos learning FAST, he took a big hit from Limond, A HARD FIGHTER, got up, then beat him to a pulp, giving him a broken ear drum and broken jaw. You seem to have the makings of a british columnist, in that you cant stand to see any type of success which comes from raw talent and hard work. Face it, an asian from Bolton is set to take the world title and he keeps getting better. Flawless work from Khan last night and my views are shared by the veterans of the sport so I can be sure that Im not too far off the ball on that one

Quote:
........someone of same weight but like tyson was.... then see how good he is

How the hell can you even begin to compare? What do you want? A lightweight to beat his wife, rape her, then do some ear munching in the ring? Get real. Tyson was tyson out of the ring, in the ring he was a good fighter like others when he wasnt breaking the rules or didnt you know that? And lets not forget Lewis putting a quick stop to all that bullshit by battering him.

And as for your comment on rugby players and street fighting!? It has to be the most childish comment I have EVER seen on this forum. Rugby players are sportsmen, not street fighters. Being "hard" on the street has jack all to do with playing rugby from where I come from. I have friends in 2 PARA who can carry kit weighing more than you do over 30 miles, fight passionate taliban fighters for 3 days then move on. How many of your "street fighters" can do that? You try to compare chalk and cheese in sport and it makes for ridiculous reading.

And one last thing, what you going to do when one of the local rugby team hits on your girl on a night out? You going to show him some of your street fighting moves!

Laughable

I agree with the comment about the rugby players.
(obviously)

I've grown up in a country where EVERYBODY plays rugby. Every school boy learns to play rugby, and they all often learn to play to a standard which is better than some of the rugby we have seen in the last two weeks.

They're certainly not yuppies, not upper class twits (although what upper class twits there are, play rugby with all the ordinary blokes) ... the proper down to earth blokes who you would find in every caff, pub, school, paddock, shop, office and hole in the middle of the road. One of commentators of the All Blacks match last night even mentioned the fact that one of the players was a council dustman in Wellington.

And I doubt whether most of the other players, even in the English team, are yuppies either. Martin Johnson (commentating at this World Cup) is 6'7" tall, with a face like a half-eaten pie ... not exactly your average yuppie material Rolling Eyes (but still ... *phwoar*, eh), LOL.

And you REALLY wouldn't want a street fight with a big bottle-brandishing prop forward in the back streets of West Auckland, Lux me old matey.

Trust me ... I've seen that, too. PLENTY of times.

Bugsy, I agree with you on most of that, but the bit about the referee's duty I have to disagree with.

Ok it IS his duty yeah, but the other lad still had his hands up, so in effect was still protecting himself, so in effect was still in the fight.

I dont think it should have been stopped there.

You should not count these in when judging a fighter, what the fuck has that got to do with being in the ring?

Look above, you are telling some one not to do what you have just done.

I do not agree with LUXY at all, other than the fact of Kahn has had shite competition to a certain degree so far, I think he is another naseem hammed, he will win for a while yet then get beaten sensless and disapear into the unknown.

did you see blood then rezzin? i didnt

LAANDAAN BOY - London is the only 'ard place in the UK.

Londoners couldn't scare anyone if they had 'I have aids' tattooed to their forehead and were walking aorund with a syringe full of blood, let alone trying to act threatening.

Because you look really hard wearing that scarf in the pub! Wink

Funny how you left out ear biting Rolling Eyes My point is, what is a lightweight Tyson? A good lightweight!!! Thats it! What is Tyson other than a very good fighter, so your argument is, Khan will be pulverised by a very good boxer. And if you read closely, you will find I am not judging Tyson

Quote:

Dont you think you should give the lad a chance before slating him? Why is he another naseem hamed? Because he isnt white? And Willie limond had won 28 of 29 fights before he met Khan. So dont tell me Limond is a shit fighter. And yes, Khan did box with L plates that night, but what happened in the end? He battered him and that fight has upped his game which could be seen last night. Lawton was bragging about how hes found Khans weakness! Yeah right, Lawton got pulverised and if the ref didnt stop it he would of gone on to do serious damage like he did to Limond

Quote:
that doesnt make kahn good, that makes his opponent shit, you know, STUPID....

No mate, I just checked my thesaurus, and I dont recall seeing stupid under shit? Or vice versa, now that tells me something about you, if you DO manage to work it out, let me know

ok

Quote:
the ref stops it too early all the time now FACT!

Oh dear, well Its the refs fault Khan wins, too bad

Quote:
nope, was boring....proven by the amount of rounds it lasted

a) What do you want Khan to do, hang about for 11 rounds then Knock him out? b) dont like it? dont watch it, besides thought youd be doing it yourself being that your such a "tough" guy, pffft

Quote:
& just cause some tv pundits & people involved in boxing say it was good does that make you right....? no! cause of course they'll will big him up & back him - he won thats why,

Oh really? Thats why at the willie Limond fight they slated Khan? Rolling Eyes Do you even follow boxing????

Quote:
someone LIKE tyson of same weight would eat him alive(no pun), why you going on about his life outside the ring? DID I? irrelevant

Well yes you did, why tyson? why not holyfield, bruno, lewis? What is a light weight tyson IN THE RING?, or more to the point who?

Quote:
& yea, some bloke rugby player or not hits on my woman, he'd be told & being rugby players he'd move on i know that!......

Wouldnt want to meet you down a dark alley then!!!

Quote:
where you from? i get the feeling your not from london anyway, which is alot different to your cotton wooled area...hence the views you have

Is it?! Name one example of why yorkshire is cotton wooled and compare it with London stating the difference.

Keep dreaming son
