Car drivers would be right in not understanding the right hand turn signal seeing as that one is not used in the UK. The UK hand signal for turning right on a bike is the reverse of the 1st pic.

Your left arm in a circle is the signal for turning right. The opposite of the car driver signal, cos you're using your other hand.
