Just been caught doing a wheelie....

Okay so today I learnt how to wheelie my bike. I started off just a few inches off the ground, but I got my friend to watch in this carpark and I can sustain about 2 feet in 1st gear.

Anyway, coming back from my mates house just now I did a wheelie through town and just at that moment a bike cop appeared. Oh dear.....

I saw him do a U Turn and follow me and then he pulled me over. I was shitting myself when he turned around and thought I was in for it. However, I got off. He didnt even ask to look at my licence or anything. My excuse was that because its cold I have inner gloves (which I do) and im having trouble controlling the throttle because it feels different. I also said its a new bike and im not used to it yet. The cop said "Okay, well... be careful and if you dont get the hang of it maybe bikes arent for you". Then he let me go....

English cops are the best as long as you treat them with respect most of them will show it back.

Also once you start doing wheelies its hard to stop

This guy seemed pretty cool. Im not sure if he knew what I was doing and let me off or just thought I was really shit at riding .

Yeah, pretty addictive stuff. I just dont know where to do them. Its okay on an empty carpark, but seems more fun on a random road. People stare .

I dont want to lose my licence though so maybe I should restrain myself .

Got caught wheelieng the CBR a few months back, Cop car gave chase. I just didn't stop.
There was 3 of us being chased by a 406 Cop car out of Ebbsfleet!

Just made progress through into Gravesend and split up. As far as I know all 3 of us got away.


And as McGee says, Once you can comfortably wheelie, you never stop!

Mate of mine got stopped by the police for wheelying his pizza delivery bike (C90) along Causewayhead in Edinburgh. They told him that if he wanted to prove he was in full control of the vehicle, he had to keep it on the back wheel until he was out of their sight.

lucky call mate, best place to go i reckon is the home base end on either st johns Macdonald's car park or the home base near warndon, pretty well covered from the road and as long as you do it when the shops are closed you should be ok.

remember police are people too. they arnt all robots that are programed to fine you for every offence. Be nice and depending on what you have done, you may get away with a caution.

funny aint it, they(some) seem to be more relaxed with wheelies

when i go pulled for it (past a police station ) they just said in smiley/laughing manner, "was that you who just pulled a wheelie back there" "eh yea, just pulled away abit to aggressive " ...............after check,etc............ "ok mate, well you gotta be careful, cause you get alot of idiots walk out"

Erm, they can.......they probably just wanted to put the frighteners on your mate even though he's done nothing wrong.

And jumping a light on amber is still the same as jumping on red. You shouldn't be going through ambers.
