Afternoon folks,

Been hunting Ebay for a sub £1k bike and i've found one I quite like the sound of.

This

1996 Honda NTV 650. Reserve is £800.

Already phoned the bloke up and both he and the bike sound genuine to me.

Also, I'm going to get a ground anchor. Would anyone be willing to help me put it in or offer advice?

As far as the gorund anchor goes, I got a Hardie Secure one, and killed two (count 'em) drills fitting it. it needs 100mm deep, 20 mm bore hole. After various (drill killing) experiments, the best method seemed to be do 10mm with a 10mm bit, then open that up with the 20mm bit, and then repeat the process.

I also did it over the course of a few days as my arms and hands were screwed from the vibration after an hour or so (however, I'm a wuss so you may not have this problem).

The seller immediatly called off the deal, he was genuinly shocked judging by how fast he responded.

It looks like the last owner bought it without knowing it's history as well.

I got the Hardie one too from Almax for £40 delivered. Gonna be a bastard to fit but I see that as a good thing, once its in its gonna make the bike VERY hard to take from my back yard as I have a Almax Series 3 Immobiliser and the padlock which have never been cropped by hand, the Ground anchor which can withstand 8 tonnes of force, and a cheapy alarm so I can hear them trying anything! They will have to be seriously determined to have it away thats for true!
