 |

Dear sir/madam
I have been a fan on Ginsters for many years now, well I would say I enjoy your whole range but I’d be lying. I am sometimes a bit reluctant to try new things in packets that boldly claim such things as ‘real honest food’. I must say your spicy chicken slice is rather nice with a can of Cherry coke to wash it down, but even so, I’ve never tasted spice or chicken quite like yours.
I have now tried some other products in your range, out of curiosity.
Have you ever been to Cornwall? Ever eaten a Cornish pasty? I think you’ll be in for a shock.
Now I’m assuming all of your food is made by machine judging by the symmetry of the food, so maybe you can push some buttons, twiddle some knobs or adjust some levels and get a few things sorted.
Your spicy peppered steak slice, now I like steak and I like spice, but this slice tastes nothing I’ve eaten before. If you are unable to adjust the volume of what ever ingredient lines my mouth and teeth with a grey spicy sludge, then at least sell the slice with some mints. I often spot your advertisements in FHM, NUTS and the like, student boys will never pull a women with a mouth that smells like ass.
Your advertising is rather slick, so slick in fact I bought another slice, to which I regret deeply now, my faith in a British born snack is fading.
Your ham and cheese slice, in my opinion you can’t go wrong, this is an ‘honest’ combination. But what kind of cheese is this?! It actually makes my eyes water, don’t get me wrong, I like a mature cheese but this is another level, how do you mature it, in a time machine?!
This brings me to my latest attempt at satisfying a hunger which you sometimes get on the go.
I purchased today what I considered something even you guys could get right. Tuna, mayonnaise and sweet corn. I’m writing this message trying my best not to retch and meet your product again on my keyboard.
Let me point out now that there is a big difference between an ingredient, and seasoning. You seemed to have used pepper in this product like there’s no tomorrow, I could hardly keep straight face whilst eating this sandwich, I thought someone was having a laugh.
Seasoning, meaning – ‘something added to food primarily for the savor it imparts’
So this is the end of the road for me and Ginsters, I’ve even thought to myself at times ‘perhaps it was a one off’ but instead I’ve been left with a bad taste in my mouth, literally.
Yours truly,

Erm Ginsters is actually a cornish company btw their factory is over the Tamar Bridge north towards Tavistock West for a couple miles.
I worked there once at the end of the production line (not of the actual pasties) but loading boxes which were filled by another guy onto a pallet, twas boring but ok for £7/h. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. That is so funny. I struggled to read it as I was laughing so much!.
Ginsters may be a cornish company, but I bet they only sell a fraction of their pasties in cornwall. Everytime I head down to cornwall I see plenty of ginsters trucks heading up this way, but once down there you never see them.
Now if Philps Bakery was to sell their pasties up here they would wipe ginsters off the face of the earth. |

I've got a new self imposed food policy myself, anything that has been "mechanically processed" is staying in its sorry little packet on the shelf. As itchy points out its more often than not the crap they couldn't use elsewhere (flaps, scrotums, aortas, chins e.t.c.)
Put it this way, anyone who works in a ginsters factory or anything similar wouldn't eat it if they were staving and on fire and it was a magic pasty that puts fires out when you eat them.
But same goes for anything vacuum packed in a factory.
Tbh now I'm more or less a vegetarian, and there covered in pesticides ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |
