Heya, been offered a 1994 Suzuki RMX 250. He wants £75 for it, supposedly in good nick despite being in bits and requiring a bottom and top end rebuild.

I reckon it'd be easier to find a new motor from somewhere and have that in. Though with the only 2 stroke experience I have being from rebuilding my 50cc, it's a bit limited.

Anyone know if it's easy to get bits for, or where to get them from?

Parts look fairly limited on ebay - but you can get the critical bits like gaskets and bearings etc.
I am sure that any Kawasaki place will be able to source the parts easily though.

Working on 2 strokes is a doddle - experience with taking apart your 50cc bike will be enough.
All you need is a haynes manual Smile

For 75 quid, I would snap his hand off.
Its worth sitting in your garage and having as a project bike over winter.
Not sure where you are - but if you are down south then give me a shout if you need any help - I love working on 2 strokes.

If you dont want it then let me know and I will go and grab it Smile

I reckon a Suzuki place might be a better bet Wink. Apart from that, I was thinking the same thing.

Riding looks slightly later model RMX (97) it's a very nice enduro bike with remarkably usable power.

Aye, cheers for that. Silky, I'm actually located on the Isle of Wight so very south.

I may take him up on it then, it's just sat in his garden at the moment. It's got tax and an MOT, but was recently torn down as he noticed it had a bottom end knock, never made it back together. I remember him saying it needed a new crank, though I'm not so sure.
