Is the theory test I just passed valid?

I just (half an hour ago) did my bike theory test (and passed Very Happy ), but have just seen that my provisional licence is only valid from 2/3/08 (my 17th birthday). It said to bring 'Both parts of your valid signed GB or NI (Northern Ireland) driving licence'. Considering my licence isn't technically valid, this doesn't make my theory test invalid does it?

Both the online booking system and the two people at the test centre saw my D.O.B. so I doubt it is invalid, but it still doesn't seem right.

Opinions?

Why is your licence only valid from your 17th Birthday?

Should have provisional entitlement from 16, otherwise what do kids ride mopeds on.

I think you are worrying about nothing here.

You dont need the theory test till you are 17, because you cant take any tests that need it.

So making it valid from then gives you the full 2 years to pass your A2 test

I have already taken it at 16 to save time when I am 17, as my AS-Level exams are coming up soon after my birthday. Oh and I'm impatient Wink

Yeah
but the theory test pass doesnt need to be valid until your 17th birthday

if they did it from now you would only have 1 year 11 months to pass your A2 test.
Dating it from your birthday gives you the full 2 years of the theory to get your A2 done and dusted. Smile

Should be valid for provisional category P (moped).

Incidentally. Far as I'm aware you can still do a full moped test at 16 so it must be possible to do a theory test at 16.

A full moped licence allows you to ride a 125 on L-plates without the need for CBT once you turn 17 if my memory serves me correctly (ie you can ride a 125 on L-plates indefinately without having to fork out for a CBT every two years) .
