I've been playing Need For Speed Carbon Limited Edition on my pc for a while now, mostly online with a few mates. The connection to the EA servers has always been brill and very quick.

However, recently I had to wipe my HDD and reinstall XP along with everything else I normally use. My pc is now quicker than ever, internet is good and Outlook is much quicker than it was before. Unfortunately since reinstalling NFSC I've had endless connection problems, it keeps kicking me out, not connecting properly and generally being a bugger to actually finish any races! When I am playing it shows me as having a very poor connection to the EA servers. Crying or Very sad

Anyone have any possible ideas why this could be? Help! Thumbs Up

I've got the latest V1.4 patch already installed and there's no form of punkbuster attached. The program has also already been marked as 'unblocked' in the Windows filtering section.

My pc is connected wirelessly via a router but none of the router settings have been changed since before the reinstall. I run AVG as the antivirus, same as ever. I can't think of any other firewall or protection processes that could be different from before the reinstall that might make the connection slower...

Am at a bit of a loss really Confused

try turning off windows firewall if not already off

is there any problems on single player?

I can't think of what else it could be, maybe just try reinstalling it

a million possibilities.

someone stealing your bandwidth?
an extra computer/games console/ipod/sky box accessing the internet?
port settings correct?
firewall security level correct?
did you put the kettle on?
Thumbs Up

Back some time ago, we had people who was using the ADSL MAX broadband and when they used the hair dryer in the house, it made them loose sync with the telephone exchange. Laughing
