I did my test on a YBR, it seemed like an alright little bike, was light as fuck and easy to ride. Not sure how it compares to a CG, I can't imagine there would be much difference ride wise.
Can't really say anything about it reliability other than it didn't break down during the 200 miles I rode on it.

I guess it was a little slow, you might get fed up with the 65mph-70mph top speed if you rode it for a long distance. On the plus side it used hardley any fuel at all, would be dirt cheap to use a commuter.

Edit: If your gonna be going around town then it'll be an awesome filtering machine Smile So easy to use. I bet you could have some fun throwing it around aswell. I did have the rear brake lock up on me once though, seemed to be a lot grippier than the one on my NSR.

i love my YBR. ITs nippy around town it does 200 miles on a tank and is very comfotable. While its not fast itll plod along at 60mph indicated for miles and miles!

7000 miles later ive been through 1 set of tyres and its still going strong Laughing . Well worthit bought new with 1 years free roadside cover, free insurance and 2 year warrenty. Theres also some good deals on used YBR's.

I had a GS125. It was an X reg (1999) one.

My DAS instructor said that they where a smashing little bike when I turned up on it. The school he used to work for used them and he said that there where unbustable. He also said that there where more reliable that the CG as "the cluch was stronger".

Anyway, I had mine for 4 months and did about 2K miles on it. Top end was 65 in a breese on a hill, 50-60 the rest of the time. It always started on the button and did about ~85mpg.

I had a one problem with it. The split pin that held the gear selector arm fell off.

You should be able to pick up the GS a little cheeper as they are not as well known as the CG.

i had a gs125 as a winter hack , ,if your buying one ask the seller if the oil pump gauze/strainer has been cleaned recently ? if this is blocked it leads to reduced oil pressure which will take out the cam and head ,,as it did on mine!!!! also ask how often has the oil/filter has been changed ,other than this it was a brilliant little work horse

get a CG, there bulletproof, my friend did 40k in one year, with 1 oil change and it didn't grumble once. advantages of a simple push rod engine, none of this unnecessary cam chain bollocks like on the ybr.

Cheers
John

My first bike was a GS, It was fantastic and I passed it onto my brother, its now got near on 50000 miles on it and its still on its first engine. As above its does about 85mpg, costs very little to fill up, quite a good bike and if you search on here for posts from SoNd they wheely aswell.

Cracker of a bike.

I had a YBR myself to pass my test on. Its not as fast as something like an NSR, but for what it is its great. Really easy to ride and reliable. The only complaint I have/had was the lack of a sidestand. Mine blew over once. The 2007 models have a sidestand, but pre 2007 only have a centre. It took the damage well though so If you ever drop it its no big deal. Just broke an indicator lens.

I would say the best newer 4t 125. The new CG's look rubbish and the CBR125 is pants.

Pass your test and get something faster Cool.

Oh, if you can squeeze about £9 in it will do around 250 miles Laughing.
