The thing is nobody is really that surprised anymore, and the only people who have the power to prevent such things occuring are MPs themselves , turkeys voting for xmas comes to mind.

The only other solution is corporations to become even more ruthless , ie they get the benefit of the MP doing corrupt things in their favour, but decide NOT to hire them later on, but alas this signals to future MPs why should I help you, and thus the vicious cycle continues.
