I'm cosidering getting two KN style air filters for my cb250n super dream, so I can remove the air box and get rid of a bit of weight.

When I do this, will i have to adjust the carbs and will it have any drastic effects?

Thanks

yes you will have to rejet the carbs, and lift the needles,
it takes quite a few time to get it right,
with my gs it took 5 jet changes and about 10-15 tweaks to get it running as well as stock

Generally when you change something on a bike there is a repercusion.
I fitted a K&N and it made my bike run leaner, still needs setting leaner too.
Its best to jet your bike to suit the K&N's and it sounds like you are going for the pod types.
I have a guide you can read but apart from that i cant really help you as i'm no expert as many will agree, but i can help you out with a bit of reading oncarb tuning?

Sleep is for the weak! I go to bed at 1 am then get up at 7:30 am. Shocked
I hope that guide gives you a rough idea, carb tuning is a black art but once practiced is extremly rewarding, i set my carbs up spot on once.. then i changed my exhaust. Thumbs Up

it might be a bit difficult, superdreams dont tend to like pods as much as other bikes of that era (z250 for example) but basically, change em over, start it up with clean plugs and see how if runs, then plug check.

you want to be doing needle moving before getting new jets in, saves cash and might only need the needles raising a notch.

Cheers
John

Where can I get new jets for my super dream from? I recently replaced them with new, stock size ones. but don't know where I'd get bigger ones.

They're Keihin VB30B's

I've already contacted David Silver's and they told me they only do stock sizes.

Where else may I get different size jets from?

And what size up do you think I'd need, im getting a motad 2-1 exhaust and some pod style KN air filters. I was going to go one size up and see how that goes.

Also would the jets from other hondas be inter-changable?

its not the honda bit you want to compare, look for bikes with the same carb if you want to get jets like that.

a motad wont affect your caburation on its own, not a bit, k&ns will make it leaner, so lift the needles a notch at a time, test running it after every lift and doing plug checks to see how its going, then if you cant get it sorted on the needle then you need to get bigger main jets, oh and turn your pilot air screw towards rich (don't know if thats in or out on your carb) by about 1/4 turn, should make it idle right, if not then just turn it either way slowly until it idles evenly.

Cheers
John
