The flag in the side of the forum that tells you if there are new posts since the last time you visited doesn't seem to be updating. Usually if I log on, I see new posts, then if I log off then on again quickly I will see no new posts since last time I visited.

They will stay lit up until you actually read each thread. To clear them, use the "mark all forums read" button at the bottom of the index.

Would it be possible to get a button to mark individual threads as read, without actually reading them?

Nope. Just click a thread and go back, or use "mark all posts read".

Hi Korn

Seems to work mostly.

Minor suggestion. Is there any way that the markers to show which forums have unread messages can be reset when you leave the forum?

Also it does not always seem to set the read flag when you look at a thread, especially if you open it in a new window (which it didn't before, but it dodn't matter so much when they got reset when you left the forum).

All the best

Keith

Posting a poll on this in two ticks...

I'm seeing this too, but regardless of how I open threads. Sometimes it just doesn't mark it read and I have to open it again. Haven't spotted a pattern to it yet though.

That was actually what I meant. That was how it was before wasn't it.

I'll go find this poll. Smile

One pattern I have noticed. If there is a series of unread threads I got do them, right click on them and select "Open In Background" (Opera option, so that it opens in a fresh window without putting the new window on top). If I then refresh the forum page once they have opened it often seems that the last pages opened are recorded as read, and maybe the first one/s. Those between are not marked.

All the best

Keith

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 20 years, 102 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
