I have been looking for a pair of boots for when I get my first bike which is going to be a DRZ400 SM; and I was wondering which boots to get. I have been told Motocross boots will be a good start and more enduro style would be better for slightly longer rides. But as for brands/models I'm at a bit of a loss. The obvious place to start are Alpinestars something like the tech 3s or 4s but if anyone knows of any other decent boots then I would be glad to hear bout them.

Cheers in advance.

If you can afford them Sidi Crossfire's are excellent because they have pivots built into the ankle. But very very pricey.

Bank account says yes but, common sense says no. This is going to be my first bike. Is it really worth getting the dogs b0ll0cks boots? Or is it a bit too all the gear and no idea?

Are the Alpinestar tech 3s worth a look?

Yeah, you can pick up tech 3s nice and cheap. Been watching a few pairs on eBay.

I'd try some on in a shop though, if this is a 125 I probably wouldn't bother with big expensive MX boots.

You'll find them very hard to walk in I think.

Whereas sports boots would be fine.
