After the Booze thread, I wondered what people drink(if anything) while either driving or riding. I mean, say you go for a Sunday blast and stop by a quiet pub, would you down a half or pint?
Would you feel 'ok' in yourself doing so? Just wondering what the masses general thoughts are really.

Did you know the forum has a search function, or did you you think that little magnifying glass up there was just included because it came with the set of icons?

Had a couple at a mates house once and he got the pit bike out, Just didnt feel 'right' on it at all, Which has made my decision in i'm never going to ride on the road even if i've had one or two.

Know lots of people that are more than happy to ride/drive with a few in them though, Each to thier own i suppose.

Red Bull, because STILL too few pubs actually offer coffee as an option.

Went for a summer blast once and kept stopping at pubs for a pint, by the end of the day I was pretty shit faced. Wouldn't do it again but it's funny looking back.

I've ridden pissed, on E, coke, acid, weed, combinations of the above, and generally had a blast. I don't do it anymore because I don't want to lose my licence and it increases the chance of being a bit silly and getting hurt or killed. And these days I get a bigger buzz being fully in control and being able to go faster around corners.

Or if I've had a wee smoke I go quite slowly and enjoy the scenery.

Funnily enough yes, I did, on both counts.

I don't remember the last related thread and I've been here a little while. There's been a few new members in that time and it makes for interesting random conversation, being in Random Bantor and all.

I don't drink at all, as I never know when I will be out on the bike. If I do drink at all then I wont get on the bike that day, or even the next. I value my life too much and my daughter needs to have her mum around for a few more years yet.

I've had a pint and driven before, suprising how much it affects you. So seeing as a pint is too much the only other option is to never drink when riding 'cos being male a half pint is forbidden.

I've ridden plenty of times with a stinking hangover though, I'd imagine I was still way over the limit. Too busy trying not to vomit and making groaning noises to worry about falling off mind Laughing

I've gone out after work at 5pm, had around 3-4 pints and a shot, and ridden home a couple of times.

I was quite tipsy and could certainly feel the difference. Its hard not to rag it after a few drinks.

I aint gonna do it again though as it's pretty stupid.

I'd drink a little, but make sure I was extra cautious on the way back. Its easy to get a bit carried away and ride faster than you normally would, if you are slightly pissed. Fine if nothing eventful happens on the way home, but if it does, you arent gonna react quick enough.

Best avoided really.

My grandmother was killed by a drunk driver, so i never got to know her, kinda puts me off the idea of drinking and riding/driving...

I have ridden home the next morning after some pretty heavy parties, im pretty sure i would have been over the limit, wasent for me, felt really wobbley, yet surprisingly confidant in my wobbliness.

On the Flipside sometimes i will have a smoke and go out for an exceedingly slow ride...

Something about both Alcohol and Weed reducing your ability but drink makes you overconfidant green makes you overcompensate....

Only ever really done it abroad, as an only means of slowly getting back somewhere after a night out, rather than going out for a blat.

The penalty for getting caught here even if you're driving fairly safely is way too big to risk it.

More often than not i have a pint or two at pub in the country and feel fine with riding, doesn't seem to make any difference.

I have once however drank well above my limit and although i felt fine at the time still rode home at a silly hour in the morning. I didnt speed at all and for an odd reason rode at exactly 30 in a 30, 60 in a 60 etc Confused couldn't concentrate enough to go any slower or faster Shocked

Doubt i'll ever do that again, i felt stupid after when i got home.

Most recent experience was with cops here doing a license check.

They basically block the road off and check to see if your legal. In reality they are looking for drunk drivers.

I was just coming back from the bar, not drunk had 4 beers over a few hours.

Still couldn't be arsed having to get all my stuff out to show them, so I just done a U turn in front of them and went the back way home Cool

Would of been ace if they tried to follow me just so I could of wasted their time. Crying or Very sad

Yeah, that and assuming everyone around was Dave.

I'll never forget the final ride home from the last pub, rounding the corner to see hundreds of blue lights in the distance near your house. Laughing

I'll have a pint and still ride but that's about it. Having said that, I pretty much always have weed in my system, although if I'm riding it'll be when the effects have passed... Confused

so probably wont be doing it again Razz i get too worried about everythin. once took me about 30 seconds to get the confidence to cross a completely empty road after a few smokes.

on the other hand being a passenger is great Very Happy

Aint that the truth Laughing.
To be fair, it depends on the agro associated either way. I once rode back from the pub after a major whitey. It was only about 30 seconds down the road, threw up and sorted bike. Waited til i next threw up then barrelled home asap in that post vomit sober window. Not good.
Have rode on small amounts of just about anything at somepoint, but it depends if you're going for a hoon or transport. Of the two crashes i had on the cbr, one was defo caused by idiocy after one joint and pint. Little pissy lowside, but i wouldn't of done it sober.
But if i'm just travelling over to see a bird for a pint i'll happily have a few then potter back whilst making progress (sit AT the speed limit and you'll get pulled, just ride sensibly).

But it all depends on what you're like after a beer or two. If you're a bit of a heavyweight (like myself, not to sound to wanky) sticking to a few light pints in a beer garden on a summers day before heading home isn't an issue. If you're a lightweight its probs safest to stick to pepsi etc.

Oh and Hetz i'm still amazed you got home alive that morning from Riches Neutral
