Hi everyone,
I've paid a deposit on an SV650S but I have just seen the ER6f as well, bear in mind it would need to be restricted as well, have I made the right choice?
Anyone had any experience of the two, advice appreciated
Thanks ____________________ Current: SV650S |

SV.
It's a good cheap basic bike which if you get more flush or feel the need to can be modified (Shocks, Front end, etc . .). Only downer on the SV is the bolts are the biggest pile of crud ever and round quicker than the wheels and the front end will scare you.
Though a set of new springs and oil in the front for under £100 and some stainless bolts from ebay will sort these out no problem.
If you buying, i'd go with R+G's too and a scottoiler and the bike will trundle on forever. ____________________ Past - CG125 ,KR1S, SV650s, Street Triple R - Current - Duke 390

i've heard reviews that your size doesn't matter on the sv whether your 5 ft or 6 ft 3 (like me).
it's the best starter bike out there imo although i *think* the ninja 250r will rival it with younger, more sportier riders.
The SV is pants on a big scale compared to most other bikes but with a £4k price and £500 worth of work done to it you can have a really, tidy restricted bike.
If i had £500 to spend on the SV i'd go with:
R+G - £70
Scottoiler - £65
Rear Hugger - £70
Fenda Extenda - £20
Top Yoke Cover - £20
New Springs + Fork Oil - £90
and enough left over for an aftermarket fuel can if you want it.
BTW don't buy new if you got the cash, look for a good over 2 years old 2nd hand one so you don't have to worry about taking it to a dealers for servicing to keep the warranty up, ____________________ Past - CG125 ,KR1S, SV650s, Street Triple R - Current - Duke 390

I've tried both and I used to have an ER6n.
If you're planning to do trackdays, get an SV as the riding position is more suited.
If you want a more comfortable, safer, but equally fast bike, get the ER6.
Either way, try before you buy. ____________________ Kawasaki ER6n -> Honda CBR600RR -> Honda VTR 1000 -> Moto Guzzi Norge 1200

I could but would you like to pay my insurance It does look very nice though
I think I will settle with the SV and keep it through my restriction period and get it lowered.
Thanks again for all your advice ____________________ Current: SV650S |
