After succesfully breaking into our yard and breaking the lock on the 6' gate, two thugs decided James' beautiful Gixxer would be fun for a joy ride.

They were chased by th police over what looks like hundreds of speed bumps before they finally lost control of it and crashed Black Betty (aka Linford).

The photographs don't really do justice to how bad the damage is, but we're looking at new forks, front wheel, plastics (especially rear and top fairing), rear sets, heel plates, rear shock, mirrors, and obviously mirrors, ignition barrel and levers. What you can't really see is the fact that the front wheel is straight and yet the bars are at full lock (a slight worry there).

So... feast your eyes.

See the huge gate in "Poor Gixxer"? That was padlocked, and bolted, it is also covered in barbed wire.

Somehow they got into the back yard and ripped the locks off the gate damaging the post in the process. The bike was locked up, and yes they hot wired it, smashed the ignition barrel.

As for the thugs, we find out tomorrow when the police who were involved in the chase are back on duty. Hopefully we'll find out a little more about what happened and whether or not the missing bits were retrieved from the crash.
