I called Telebikes, CIA, Virgin bikes and Choice Quote for mine and played them off against each other. You just need to call them back to see if they can keep on bettering each others quotes. In an hour and a half I managed to get down from £800 tpft to £440.

Hey DF

Its a 03 Hornet 600. Its not being registered till march so i can get it on an 04 plate though.

Thats my plan MJ, Im just starting out my phone calls. Need some good companies to start on though. I have been though the MCN before an i hate spending all that time giving my details to a company that is only interested in insuring people double my age.

I was with Telebikes for my NSR i think. There worth another try at least.

Thanks

Hey,

Carole Nash gave me my best quote, and usually give you free breakdown cover and legal. (No i don't work for them Razz)

The best idea is just keep phoning around and telling each company what your best quote is, I went from £1200 to £428 by phoning around.

Bennetts are quite good also....

You could give Hondacare a go on 0845 200 8000, it's run by a broker for Honda at the moment. They gave my wife the best quote she found on her NSR.

The top bloke at Honda UK recons they are lunching their own unmanaged insurance scheme at the beginning of March. He says it will be available through Honda dealers and you can register your bike online. Might be worth asking about.

I can definitely recommend H&R (Insurance2000.co.uk).

They gave me a very reasonable quote, much cheaper than elsewhere.

Heres "My Insurance Guide" from last years quotes...

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=14395&highlight=insurance+guide

I hope this helps, although i know some of the companies may have folded, or have changed their numbers.

Viper's 2004 Insurance Guide is currently "under construction" as we speak. Wink[/i]

Thanks for all the recommendations and thanks for that massive list.

I rang the best ones an a few other the rest, pretty much everyone said they couldnt beat MCE. Rang CIA back and they beat them.

So its cost me £785 TPFT.

Quite pleased with that.

Thanks for the help!

Whats all this You've got too much bad Karma to post such a short message, never heard so much b*llocks in all my life.

Hi boo

I found the bike on the Bike trader site. After ringing round all my local dealers no one could come close to the price i ended up getting.

Its a 2003 but the changes for 2004 are minor. Change in seat, larger rear wheel. Some other smaller things, not worth the extra 400 notes.

Since its all the way in south wales, delivery is costin me just over £100.

Anyway, heres the add :-

Carol Nash suck for me big time - always have.

Thing with insurance is, whats good for one is not for another - your simply best ringing all the buggers and play them off one another.

Happy hunting.

How old are you?
I've been ringing around after quotes for an 03 hornet 600.
Cheapest I’ve got is £650 Tpf+t.
I'm 19 with 1yr NCB.
That’s with Biketeam.co.uk
For a list of loads of insurance companies try:
https://www.find.co.uk/insurance/Motorbike_Insurance/
Hope this helps

A new bike does actually disadvantage it a fair bit.

Add that in with a higher value bike and you aint gonna be getting /great/ quotes.
