I can't remember where I saw it...

But I don't remember it fully as I was busy frying bacon ,there were two blokes discussing a proposed government law to be introduced in London and or Oxford.

In that if you are stuck in a traffic jam for more than 1 minute you MUST stop your engine, or be fined £60 CCTV and parking attendants will be able to catch you and prosecute you.

It was for reasons of climate change I recall, yeah right...

One of the blokes said it was utterly ridiculous...

A green campaigner demanded that it was bought in and that ALL speed limits were enforced 100% to save carbon emissions.

Kind of ridiculous I reckon as I remember somewhere that if you idle a car for less than 4 minutes it uses LESS fuel than switching the engine off and starting it again, probably maybe somewhere.

Does anybody have any more info on this or was I just having a bad dream?

Pah almost unenforcable and nobody would adhere to it anyway.

It's almost common knowledge that you can leave you engine at idle for 3 minutes. Turning it on uses a lot more fuel.

Just imagine it was true, everyone would take twice the time at rush hour getting their cars started after the min they had it on for to aviod fines. Sounds so stupid. Its wasting more time. I hope its not true.

Heh, AA and RAC are probably behind it as the amount of recoveries they'd have to do in winter would be effing ridiculous.

Speed cameras? Almost unenforceable, nobody adheres to it anyway, no one wants them but we still have them. Thinking

This seems a bit far fetched even for them. Laughing
