WTF!

Council workers threatened to arrest a mother for not giving her name and address after a bit of sausage roll fell to the ground while feeding her 4 year old daughter.

They then preceded to issue her with a £75 on the spot fine AFTER! the pigeons had ate the crumb.

So 30 views and nobody has come up with a "she's a chav, she got what she deserved type argument?"

Do we finally have a case where everyone agrees that sometime the "system" does not work in favour of the general public????

She doesn't look like a chav to me.

20 year old with with a 4 year old daughter though Rolling Eyes.

Living on benefits of £94 a week. She can easily get a job. Lives with her mother so she doens't have to pay for babysitter, etc.

Fucking utter bollocks. I'd need to have some srious self control not to "assault" those twats.

They are Council workers anyway so they don't count as a lifeform.

I don't think in this case it would matter whether she was a chav or not: Its utterly ridiculous which ever way you spin it.

I'm always confused at the legality of this type of thing, surely if you're stopped by these wardens you can just keep silent, how could they track you down short of following you home?

I do think the wardens should be named and shamed, "We were only doing our job..."" doesn't really count here.

I reckon if it went to court it'll be thrown out (ha ha. Rolling Eyes )

Thumbs Up

Personally I'd use the argument that it isn't litter as the food is biodegradable.

Nothing to stop them blowing their whistles and getting the big boys with bats and a van to come and save their ass.

One of these enforcement officers is going to get twatted by some drunk person that drops a chip and they'll cry out for tasers or some other 'safe', 'non-lethal', 'self-defence' weapon.

When it's available they'll just use CCTV and cut out the middle man while maximising profits, no more gray area either. If the camera has seen it, you did it, there's no accidents when it comes to litter. They can't just let you off with it because it could maybe have been an accident, they've got a business to run here with no room for timewasters that ruin the environment.

I think thats stupid! There are people here who dump their waste across the road from my house on a nice spot wher there is a river and bridge. No one does nothing about that. A man actually laughed and joked with me while he commented how great it was he had that place to dump his stuff. Told him where to go anyway. Was a piece of pastry that was eaten by a bird! nothing but power mad hitler types looking to exercise their athority and looking as usual in the wrong places.

Well done those council bods. Thumbs Up

Eating in the street is quite ghastly. Take your vile offspring and feed it out of sight of decent folk.

Scum.

Easy out on that, where is the proof......
Have they got what was dropped on film ? or in a evidence bag ? Guess not.

So go to court and watch it laughed out of court, but it will never get there.

I'd laugh if the fine for feeding the pidgeons was higher than the littering fine and when she argued that a bird had et it anyway she got slapped with that as well.

I think she needs another fine for encouraging vermin.

Pigeons are flying rats.

I live in the middle of nowhere in Norfolk and a few of the people who live in this area have recently taken pictures of fly tipping in action about 100m down the road and sent them to the council. Nothing at all has happened, not even a letter to acknowledge they'd received our photo's. The stuff being dumped is builders waste, old bricks, plaster bags, a wheelbarrow etc.

I fail to see how a mother who was feeding her child is being taken to court over dropping a tiny piece of food that will rot away if uneaten by pigeons, yet the fly tippers are getting away with it?! Shocked

someone official was there to see it

If someone hits someone with a policemen present, there is a good chance of a conviction.

If not its just one persons word against the others.

I dont know what pictures you sent, but maybe they are no good for a prosecution.

The pictures were of the men and the van, the men removing the rubbish from the van, the men putting the rubbish on the floor and then the van driving off. We also took pictures of the rubbish afterwards. Thumbs Up

Tell me that's no good for prosecution? Shocked

She was feeding the pigeons. I suggest next time she reads the signs saying "Don't feed the pigeons! Fine of up to £100"

I note her claims about it "accidentally falling on to the floor", but am not that gullible to believe it.

I saw a Council Worker almost work the other day. well he did get out of his van, engine still running, scratch himself, fling his left overs from his lunch over a wall and get back into his van.
