Hardie Secure Ground Anchor.....any good?

Hi all I bought an almax security chain a while ago and chain my bike to a tall thick tree.....

however the tree is not mine and now its all growing and stuff but as its not mine I cant cut it back....

Almax said if I buy the Hardie secure ground anchor from them they will give me a free Kriega US-10 Tailpack to carry my chain in (as i bought the chain from them and they do a package deal like this)..

just wondered what your thoughts were and if anyone has one of these....looking out the window to check my bike was at a minimum with the tree because in order to nick it theyd have to chop the tree down...or get through the chain which aint easy....

but not sure how confident id be with the ground anchor.....

all opinions appreciated

To be fair, I understand what you mean, and it probably would be much harder to fell a tree than destroy the anchor, but if it's sold by Almax, it won't be shit.

I bought a Torc from Pragmasis and that's a fantastic bit of kit, but the Hardie looks better for concreting in.

lol....yea basically i live in a ruff part of town its comparibal with iraq mid wartime......(no disrespect to our soldiers.....)

where the tree is i can look out of my bedroom window and check it if i hear a dodgy noise...

but with the anchor it will be out of sight as cant put it into grass....also id have to drill it into the ground (wouldnt be able to concrete it in (the drill bit is supplied....)

im thinking if they sledge hammer the concrete arond the anchor then they may be able to get it outta the ground and onto a van without me knowing (to be fair its a "91 bandit 400 so ud be mad to nick it if it wasnt to ride there and then).....

I'd go for the Torc if you're drilling, it uses 4 bolts.

It's not a paving slab you're putting it in is it?

I have mine bolted into the wall of my house and you'd need a herd of wild horses to pull it out.

na its a car park to a block of flats so concrete id be putting it into.....the reason for that actual anchor is the cost and plus the free tail pack for carrying my chain....but i dont wanna buy anything thats not good as done that before and had a bike stolen will have a look at the torc.....

I would be able to put it into a brick wall right underneath my bedroom window though........how secure do you think that would be?? its a brick outer wall part of a 2 storey block of flats....

Would have to be a quiet fuckin chisel to penetrate a skin of brickwork right underneath my bedroom window, bypass the alarm, and lift the 230KG bike out of a backyard gate that is about 2mm wider than the actual bike with the mirrors folded in and handlebars twisted :>
