My left front brake pads need to be replaced asap but the RHS ones are fine.

Can I buy HH pads for the LHS even though the RHS has normal pads, or will it steer to the left when braking?

Just replace both ya skinflint!

Only kidding. Seriously, putting part worn pads in with new ones is REALLY bad, and I dread to think what would happen if you put new HH ones in and crappy old ones in the other side.

Just change the lot to HH and be done with it. Smile

Hi

Officially no. Unofficially probably. It might make it pull one way, but probably no different to the amount it is pulling from having one set of pads wearing. It is unlikey to be that noticeable though as it is hardly a problem for bikes with a single disk.

Personally I think I would just go for a full set. Clean the calipers up and bleed the brakes through at the same time. It will cost you (long term) about 1/2 of the cost of one pair of pads, so about £10. Probably worthwhile for peace of mind.

It you want to be a cheapskate then you might find the barely front pads are suitable for the rear caliper Rolling Eyes .

All the best

Keith

After you left I had a moment of clarity and realised: your caliper bracket is on back to front, the brake pads are fine it's just the bracket is going to foul on the disc in another 0.5mm of wear or so.

Cheers for the help, looks like I'll just have to figure out how to flip the caliper bracket.

You shouldn't have any trouble flipping a little bracket, you flipped a whole NSR.
