A Civic Type R. 
Wasn't a fan of the first generation RR's - I test rode both the 03 and 05 model versions and was very disappointed - hence why I bought the R6 back in November.
But a month or so ago I popped into my local Honda dealer, just for a nose, and took out a new Blade and then, a week later, the new 600RR...
...the 600 just made so much sense, both on a day to day basis and as a precision back road tool. It's even as easy to ride/filter through town as my Hornet was. It's everything that made me choose the R6 in the first place - but more. Everything's just so easy, everything works as if I don't need to think about it (which is great after I just want to get home after 3 hours overtime) I enquired a little further, was offered a good deal on the R6, and the deal was finalised today...

...need to scrub away those embarassingly large chicken strips - never done that on a bike with 15 miles on the clock though.

New exhaust for this one? You know a full Akra system makes sense

The NC's not big, the Cibber's tiny Also, the RR's wet weight is the same as the NC30's dry

What's quite surprising is how comfy the RR is over distance (more so than the R6, although the suspension feels very taught on the new bike). The NC30 fits me like a glove, whereas the Cibber almost feels spacious. I was very surprised at how different it felt compaired to pre 07 RRs - especially the midrange - for a 600, it's quite torquey - takes off at around 7k in a way that feels similar to my old Blade. Unfortunately, I've gotta stick sub-7k for the running in period though; with the mileage I do, that should be about a week and a half (already booked in the first service).
Just been out and about, added another 30 miles to the odo. Chicken strips are scrubbing off nicely, but I think a proper ride tomorrow's what's needed to finally finish them off.

Stock suspension's pretty good, as is the chassis. Mind you, suspension upgrades are usually the first place I start on when modding the bike. Why have Ohlins fork internals when I Ohlins probably stock whole fork units for RRs? |

Nice one mate. I considered one when I was looking to trade the 06 Blade. Apart from the power delivery it actually sounds like a very similar prospect, but you know me and Fireblades.  |

I know. If I were to opt for upgraded suspension (probably some time off, I can't fault the handling of the bike yet), I'd much rather fork out a bit and get the whole lot done.

Agreed - the only thing I could fault about the new Blade I rode was how easy it was to go too fast - I opted for the 600 - just a little more sane on the daily commute (just )

The bike came with the RVF forks already fitted (I just took them off and had them modded), although the only modification I think's needed is a spacer to take up the difference between the RVF's and NC30's steering stem.
More expensive than the ZXR conversion, but this way you can fit Fireblade/RR brakes. Look better in my opinion too.
Another option is to buy a Ducati conversion fitment kit from a 400gb forum member called Riley (if he has any left). That way you can fit Brembos - and, in theory, a Ducati Ohlins front end.
More tips/tricks/treats could be found on 400gb - been a while since I was last modding a 400.

Great day out today - tyres finally scrubbed in nicely and the engine's beginning to free up a bit. Still got over 100 miles to go before I can breach 80mph though but it's allowing me to brush up on my corner speed skills. The handling feels so good on the RR in comparison to the R6 (which required a quite aggressive/front end orientated riding style) that I'd swear it's powered by GPS.

Looks awesome, my mate got a new CBR600RR too.
Full Ti Arrow system!?!
I still can't get over the price of the add on Honda Carbon fibre exhaust heat shield though. It's £160 for about 5 inches of carbon!
