Hi

Just bought another bike.

https://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/TempPicture/Futura.jpg

Aprilia AF1 Futura. 1991. 14 previous owners. I was one of them.

I bought it in 1991 basically new and sold it in 1993. This was on Ebay and as there were not many UK spec ones (twin round headlights) I sent the guy a message asking if the reg was my old one. And it was so I bought it back.

All the best

Keith

Is the Kickstart storage facility nearly full? Or will it never ever ever get full?

Lovely little bike, I've do wonder what bod at Aprilia decided to plonk that thing's name and legacy on a big frumpy sports tourer though Confused

Looks lovely.

Is there any chance we can have a list of all the bikes you've got as I'm quite interested?

Very nice. I was considering buying that one - I've been looking for an AF1 Futura/Sport Pro for a while now.

I think I prefer the letter box headlights though...

Hi

Not sure how often I will get the chance to ride it. Haven't ridden the YSR or the GSXR11 I bought this year year (YSR docs are away for it to be registered, GSXR is away being set up).

Personally I do prefer the letter box headlights, but then with this one being the one I sold 15 years ago I was definatly interested in having it back.

Quite a few minor bits to sort out. Locking nut on the swinging arm spindle is missing. One of the air pipes from the front of the fairing towards the airbox is missing. Plastic heat shied above the engine is missing. Raidator cover is wrong. Indicators are horrible little things. Front mudguard is mounted slightly off and is rubbing on the front tyre.

All the best

Keith

Be interesting to see if you think its as good as you remember it, when (if?) you take it out.
