What to expect?

Hey All. My dad and his girlfriend are going to spain for 2 weeks and they have planned to do a off road day. Both of them ride road bikes and have never been off road before. What is it they should expect and what parts of the body would it be hard going on as a first timer?

I didn't mean mud or dust or anything like that... I mean is there any pressure points or anything that hurt if you don't do something right.....

Obviously it could be physically demanding. So arms, wrists and thighs.

when i did an offroad course i found my back hurt from getting the position all wrong, other than that my wirsts hurt and the back of my knees hurt just because i was using them alot more than im used to.

Oh and changing gear in all out MX boots is a pain in the arse when your not used to it, they are very very stiff!

Try not to grip the bars too tight, stand up and get ready to fall off

Take water and make sure they drink it. Offroading is much more physically demanding than road riding.

I found it quite 'scary' the first times I rode off-rode properly (admittedly one was on supermoto wheels, but enduro tyres feel odd too)- suddenly the bike's moving and feeling rather 'flexible' all over the place and it's considered a /good/ thing!
