Could've been tempted as could in theory go straight from work on the thurs night about 4miles away and go home sun morning before work without using any holiday time. But £55 tickets? Was £30 or so last time I went in 2003.

I'll be there, it will be my 6th one this year! Great news is that it should be on, the police can appeal the councils decision but I expect it to be on

More worrying would be for them to do what they did at the Welsh show and lean on the land owners to cancel it.

Easier for them than having to bother with inconveniences like legal processes.

All the best

Fortunately I think the Hells Angels would be slightly more persuasive than the police!

Well according to the police it would cost them £2million to police the Bulldog Bash. So presumably there's gonna be a few tanks, and a fleet of Eurofighters on standby.

Maybe they are making allowances for loosing court claims for wrongful arrest.

All the best

So, now that it's not far away; who's going?

Won't be bringing the zx9, I'm afraid, but may try to come along after my trip up and down the UK, presuming nothing goes too badly and I don't decide to stay in Scotland.

Would be turning up Friday night probably; anyone fancy saving me tent-space if they're getting there earlier?

Make sure you all come and say Hi and bring me beer and women.

Look for the idiot controlling the lighting rig in the dance tent.

Sunglass may be required.

Cool

Just seen this:

BBC News wrote:

Extra police officers will be on patrol and roads will be shut as part of a "significant policing operation" around a biker festival, a force has said.

and

Officers said they would be searching people attending the festival.

Is it just me, or does this look like a perfect 'opportunity' for coppers to harrass those attending? The murder last year wasn't even at the event, it was on the M40.

I'd be quite concerned about getting searched 'in case of firearms' and busted for your personal weed. Or stopped and your bike gone over with a fine toothcomb for owt they can pick at.

Not good news imo. Thumbs Down Evil or Very Mad

They are making it safe by checking number plates.

Yes, that makes sense.

Yup, road tax, insurance checks (on the notoriously unreliable ins database)...they're going to have a ball...fucking pigs.

They're going to have a field day with my bright orange bike with no lights or stand and a bicycle speedo then.

Fantastic. Rolling Eyes

Personally I think this will backfire on them hugely.

Closing roads will just put the backs of the locals up, but somehow I suspect that th epolice will get most of the flak not the attendees or the HA which I think is probably what they are hoping.

ANPR no problem, my bike is legal and so am I. They can put as many cameras up as they like near the site, just means there will be less resources deployed on the better roads further away when I am on my way there or back, or out for a bit of a ride over the weekend.

I can't help wondering what grounds they will be using to search people as well. AFAIK they still have to have a reason to stop you before a search can be performed? What criteria will they use to decide who gets searched do you think? Puling over several thousand bikes and cars/vans for a spot-check is going to need way more manpower than I suspect warwickshire police will have available.........

Thinking about this, I have actually met alot of the police who will be implementing this ridiculous thing as Stratford falls within the Thames Valley where I did my work experience (no I didn't choose to).

No real advantage but will be nice to kick off at people I know I hate.
