Hi,

Looked on NSR125.com, no guide for this!!!

I'm asking anyone here who's done this, but actually looking towards Kickstart...

How do you adjust (and check) the chain tension on the NSR?

I've noticed it's a little slack, I think anyway.

Maybe even a guide to keep on here would be handy.

Many thanks in advance,
Mark

It's easier on a paddock stand.

Loosen the rear wheel. Then adjust the adjusters (bolts sticking out the back of the swingarm from memory) on both sides the same amount. Adjust until chain tension is correct, then check it has been adjusted the same amount on both sides. If its different, the wheel isn't straight, and it can/will kill the wheel bearings.

Hi

As Ste says. If the wheel is not straight in the first place then you need to use a long straight edge to check it (hold it against the side of the rear wheel and compare its position to the front wheel, doing this on both sides).

If the wheel is not straight the bike will not go straight.

Set the chain tension at the tightest point on the chain.

All the best

Keith

Oh yeah, before I forget to say, the marking on the swingarm for adjusting your chain with aren't always right. Rolling Eyes

OK...not sure if I should attempt this!

Never done it before, from what you've said it seems complicated.

Last thing I wanna do is make a c*** of it Rolling Eyes

If you've got a paddock stand and the right size spanners then it is quite easy.

Question for everyone, the weights have fallen off my wheel. How important are they, bearing in mind they only weigh about the same as a mars bar?....the closest thing to hand Very Happy

The weights are there to balance the wheel.

Without them, it will mess up the wheel barings, and also maybe your ride.

Best get it checked by a garage.

What glue do they get stuck on with because I can see the outline of where they were. I could do it myself

Wouldnt use super glue.

Wheel alignment. I use a tape measure from the centre of the wheel spindle to the centre of the swingarm pivot. Get the distance the same on both sides. That means the back of the bike is straight and its alot easier than using large planks of wood.
