Is there anyone here from Stoke that could recommend a cheap place to stay for one night, ideally near Fenton Manor Sports Complex?

My boy has a tournament there in November, and as it's so far away we're going to have go up the night before, rather than leave at stupid o'clock in the morning.

Haven't googled yet, as i thought i'd see if anyone from that area knew of somewhere cheap and decent(ish) that might not be on t'web first.

Cheers!

Fenton is a suitabley shite place to stay fella, and Fenton Manor is basically in the middle of an industrial area with some houses on the other side.
Depends on how much you want to pay, but this place is within 4 miles and is easy to find as it's just off the A50

Fenton is a hole.

I'd look at staying in areas like Hanley and Newcastle. I'm pretty sure there's a travelodge just off junction 15 of the M6.

I think the one off J15 is a Holiday Inn, which are usually quite dear. I think there's a Travel Lodge or Premier Inn off J16.

As above, Fenton is a sh!thole, I'd look for somewhere in Hanley if I were you. Can't recommend any as I don't have to stay in a hotel when in Stoke.

Think there is one in the same estate as the Brittania ground, which is only about 1~2 miles from Fenton Manor.

All the best

I used to live in Stoke for a bit.

It sucked.

Where I live now is MUCH better.
They're stupider here.
Cool

You look perturbed, beloved Shaun-person.

If a horse can get on here ... why not a cat?

Cats are obviously of superior intelligence than horses, who have managed only (in their so-called superior intellect) to enslave themselves to humans.

That was pretty dumb.

Horses = fail.
Cats are made of win.

Watch it, stupid younghuman girl-thingie-who-never-feeds-me:
Or I'll fluff all your black clothes and leave half-dead spiders under your pillow.

Twisted Evil

I am in "the hellkat crew" cos even though she is stupid enough to fall for my manipulatively adorable mannerisms, I - like everyone else in the royal household of hellkat with even a few braincells (which most of the household seem to only have) - know which side my tunafish sandwich is buttered on ... and that it is she-who-must-be-sucked-up-to, in order to run oneself a nice comfortable and fulfilling life of doing not very much at all.

Oh, hello Gingger.
You must be the one against whose car I have pissed many MANY times.

I may even have sprayed upon your trouser leg on the odd occasion you have presented yourself within the battlements of the household.

How fondly I recall doing so.

I am indeed comfy in general.
The sofas here are built perfectly for cat-lounging purposes.
You could not have hoped for a better home for me, o my dear master Shaun.

I shall shred that Ginggers leg at my earliest opportunity on your behalf.

Normally I'd say go for the eyes but it's probably a bit harsh.

Go for the testicles, for the worlds good.

That would have been my target of preference, but we're all (pardon the pun) pussyfooting round that subject at the moment.

Note to the Gingger:
Say what you like, lad - but at least I can roll two eyes.
Observe: Rolling Eyes

Perhaps someone could drag Korn away from World of Whatever for long enough to install a one-eyed rolling smiley, and call it ":luke:" Just think, you would have your very own smiley named after you.

Personally I think you would look quite fanciable with a pirate outfit.

That's how you know he is lying cos back when Luke used to come round, Mingles was banned from the bedroom Razz

Can we, like, get back on topic here anyway, instead of making it some kind of VFR domestic debate... btw... I have never been to or wish to go to Stoke at any point in my life Mr. Green

Premier travel inn at Trentham gardens, £60 a night, £53 at weekends. 3 miles away, Frankie and Benny's and a whole host of shops to buy "stuff" from on the same site.

Nice one, Cannon, that looks good. Nice and cheap at £25 per room too.... even cheaper than E-Tap (a poor man's Travel Lodge), which is something i didn't think possible. Very Happy

Don't really care about the surrounding area tbh, as we only need somewhere to sleep for the night that's close enough to the venue. We won't be out on the town the night before or doing any sightseeing or anything.

Cheers for all the suggestions, everyone. Much appreciated! Thumbs Up
