Hi all,

On my 2002 NSR125 when I connect up the front indicators OR rear indicators they work fine. BUT when I connect BOTH front and rear indicators, the flasher relay doesn't pulsate anymore and stays on permenantly and the indicator turns on with a very weak and permenant light. Then if I disconnect either the front or rear the other indicator flashes perfectly and bright.

Weird eh? Any ideas? (apologies for my knowledge of electrics is super noobish)

Thanks,
Jack

the flasher relay (near the seat lock) is marked 20W+1,7 . this means that the total bulbs power on each side must be 20W (in fact 10+10) . your bike is probably equiped with aftermarket winkers (in front or rear) and those have 21 or 23W bulbs which is far too much . generaly on this type of winker , the bulb socket is Ba9s or Ba9,5s . so if i am right , change the 21 -23W bulb by 10W model
may be halfords stock them but in case of difficulty to find go there https://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/goffybulbs.htm
choose Ba9s 12V 10W
the other solution is to fit everywhere 23W bulbs but you need to change the 20W relay by a 40W relay . this solution works but the power asked to make them working is a bit too much and gives a fall in voltage which is dangerous at night with headlights on

That sounds right alains, as I bought the bike with no indicators so fitted some aftermarket ones that I'd got in a job lot of stuff. I will get some different bulbs from halfords soon and will report back.

Thanks,
Jack

watch your relay it's may be an aftermarket model which is not set for this bike . the relay has only 2wires connected grey & black . it's marked 20W+1,7 . verify this (sited under your seat near the seat lock on the left facing back)

Yeah, I have the original relay currently on the bike but it doesn't work anymore. I'll have to get another one from Honda if they're not too expensive.
