I know that with the normal license I will be limited to 33 bhp, but how many Kw does it correspond to?

Also does anyone knows if I get a restricted bike in Italy (like in here new riders are restricted to small bikes, 11,4Kw to be precise, and restricted bikes are sold as standard) ... will I have a problem to prove that it is restricted and to register it and get it insured?

The actual limit is <=25kw.

This works out at around 33bhp.

I thought kilowatts was related to bike weight. So 33 Bhp on a busa would be far slower than 33Bhp on a RS250.

It had 25Kw on the back of my licence but it had 33bhp on all my paper work for the restrictors so i don't really think it matters. Chances of you having to prove it are slim anyway. I have never read a single post regarding someone being caught out and there has been alot of restricted licences on BCF.

So Italian restrictions are ever tighter!! The reason for asking is that very likely I will get the bike ... eventually when it happens!! ... in Italy as my brother work in a bike shop but need to mae sure that I wont's have problems with the insurance and the restriction for the licence!

Hi

1kW is 1.36hp I think.

In the UK a learner is limited to 11kW, while someone who has done the standard motorcycle test is limited to 25kW / 33hp.

All the best

Keith
