Hi,

I'm not trying to go for kneedown but am trying to us as much of the tire as possible. This weekend I did manage to reduce the chicken strip to about half an inch but I'm not sure when too far is too far. Without knee sliders are there any obvious signs to look for to show the bike is about to drop? e.g. front wheel twiches...etc

Also, I've heard Theale roundabout is good for practice. Is it busy or fairly quiet?

Thanks

When the peg hits the ground, that's far enough. Smile

The big roundabout at Theale is pretty busy. There's a smaller one down the road from there that's a lot quieter, you've probably seen it in various photos. Of course, there's always Stockley Park...

Where abouts is Stockley Park?

I actually clipped the floor with my foot at the weekend which shook me up a bit. I have come to concluesion that anything apart from the tires on the ground.....is bad

Remember to keep the ball of your foot on the peg... feet going down is a sign of bad positioning.

We often go for a play down there, so if you wanna come down and join in, feel free... though organising's often done on IRC.

If it's an NSR, it should be able to lean until the pegs go down when sitting normally on the bike.

Mainly due to my excessively long legs I reckon (6'7" tall!)

The hero blobs on your pegs give you a good idea that you are far enough over. The bike doesn't really give you many hints apart from that that you are nearly too far over,it won't really twitch or anything if you are too far over, the first hint will be your elbow on the ground Wink !
Just use common sense, look at road surface, weather etc.

It's just of jucntion 12 of the M4.

I suspect hero blobs are so named because they stick out a way from the pegs, thus people go "oh my god that person's so great, they're getting their pegs down" and everyone thinks they're a hero as such.

Laughing Whenever I have crashed I've been under the bike as apposed to flying. They do spark well though, I have the old peg In my mates room, whenever we run out of lighters it's the lighter fluid and the 2 bits of metal all the way! Laughing

Reminder noted: No more heros. Thumbs UpMr. Green

Just checked out Theale and it's many roundabouts. Seems, like a playground for bikes!

When my 'hero blobs' hit the deck i shortly followed, but i didn't do a super man off it. Well not until i hit the embankment. I hear i did somersalts a gymnast would be proud of.

Thing i can never get my head round. I scraped about 1 quarter to half an inch off my 'blobs' yet i never got my knee down.

Maybe you should get your bum off the seat a bit and stick your knee out. Wink
Should get round corners better with bike a bit more upright too. Laughing
