the quick answer is you don't...
really to get any more power you'd have to change to a larger generator,
and if you were to do that then, you may as well convert the whole bike to 12v,
its just not worth it.

Confirmed. They are utterly and irrevocably shit and if you could see the mechanism responsable for supplying the lights with power, you'd be amazed they work at all.
The headlights are designed to be seen by, not to see with. I usually leave mine on high beam all the time, therer really is no point at all in dipping them.
