hi all

i havnt had my bike long infact just 3 weeks, the bike has been fine starting so far but the last few days have been a nightmare and cant start it.

The bike has had a new battery and been fully charged.Yesterday i tryed starting it again after taking battery off and fully charged it but wouldnt start again.

What other things could be causing problme when starting?

Thanks

Got fuel?

Got Spark?

Got compression?

These are the three things you need for it to start. Check the fuel's getting through first, it's easiest. Then check the plugs.

Check for corrosion in the main (30A) fuse area -confusingly, its' probably on the starter relay, not in the fuse box.

That can cause cause poor charging, starting and running.

Crank it over then take the plugs out and see if they are wet.

Find your fuse box and check all the fuses are good.

The Main Fuse on Kawasakis is on the starter relay (not in the fuse box), which is down below the right hand side of the seat on the ones I've seen. It is wired to the battery and Regulator/rectifier.

I believe this would be because your fuel to air mixture is running too rich.

I was thinking about adjusting a screw under the carbs (not sure of the technical term).

I know it needs to be screwed all the way in, and then turned back out a certain amount of times. I don't know how many turns out it should be (sorry), but I'm sure someone else might know.

If the air filters really blocked then you won't get enough air in to mix with the same amount of fuel causing seriously rich running which will foul your plugs.

The other thing it could be is your piston rings, but since it start up after you changed the plugs it's unlikely.

Check your fuelling system so find that washer to help decrease the amount of fuel going through.

hello everyone - got similar problem (zxr400), after changing the spark plugs it took me almost two hours messing with the wiring and spark coils (cleaning it all up) to start the bike.

Now it backfires on low rew... not only from the exhaust but from carbs as well Sad it produces fuel feedback from the carb air intake tubes when I try to accelerate).

Don’t know what to do, the only thing i did was changing the plugs (it was running normally with the old once so i guess the coils are ok or am i wrong)!

one more thing to mention, the spark plugs are wet (not all though)

What can be the problem here?

Will appreciate any help…
