I have an NSR125r 2002, its got a micron exhaust on it but only hits 70mph.
I followed the guide for derestricting the intake, but cant find the restricter(just some big gold block about the size of a bar of soap with a white plastic bit in the middle).
spoke to the old owner who insists he never derestricted the intake, soooooo where is it ?????.
pleaseee help.

Is your bike a UK spec or import?

Hi

That does not sound usual. Often they seem to stop at around 85mph with the newer restrictions. I would suspect the power valve might not be opening as that would cause a large loss of top end power, and would probably knock the top speed down to around that.

All the best

Keith

Where'd you get the micron exhaust??!!??

I need one!

My bike is restricted, and it'll hit 70, just! All be it laying on the tank, going down a hill!

Hi

Check if it works first. Two cabled go down to the valve on the r/h side of the engine (viewed sitting on the bike). Think the valve should operate when you turn on the ignition.

All the best

The micron was already on it when brought (bloody loud though) Smile.
Excuse the technical knowledge here(parts gonna be called thing & square looking thing Smile ).
with the petrol tank off & on the right, there is 2 cables that connect to a round thing(ahem Embarassed err power valve???), there is a lo & hi setting, at the mo it's set to lo, what would setting it to high do??(assume you just turn it?).
also i still ain't got an answer to me question, where was me restricter plate on me intake?, all i found was that gold block with a white plastic bit in the middle(other owner said he never derestricted it ???).
thanks for all the advice guys.
