First Big sports bike

Hi everyone.

Me and my dad where talking yesterday about me getting a big bike before my test.

What we suggested was for me to save up and buy a 600 then ride it when im 18 for financial reasons.

What would be an ideal sports 600cc to start with.

cbr6 is the cheapest on insurance out of the big sports. zx6 is pretty good too. gsx or r6 will rape you on insurance so i'd stay away from them.

cbr6 would be the first choice though.

Triumph TT600's are good value for money, built well too.
Ive also seen a lot of cheap srads, but most of them are shagged out by now.

you aint going to be insuring one of them yet...

Maybe a 400 sports?

I'm not that keen on a 400 unless the made a new one

Don't get an R6, I'm 18 in 10 days 1 years ncb riding 2 years, 800 quid TPO on a 99 R6.
ZX6R's and CBR's of same age are less than half that, for me anyway.

Whatever is cheapest for insurance. Old CBR's are a good bet. I was going to get a CBR600F, but insurance was twice as much as my current bike....work that one out.

Personally I would say ZX6R G1/2, J1/2 or I know its not a sports but SV650 would be good

I might just save up and get a cbr 600 rr 03 + for about £3000

I love this bike and i think when i get it i will keep it for a while

yhy not look towards a yammie thundercat, comfy and quick enough to keep up with most of the sports 600's, also you won't get (to) raped on insurance.
