Aerodynamics are more the reason. Apart from the seat unit, that's to give you something to put your arse on. Smile

you'd actually have to ask these guys, I'm not too sure, I've heard turning the engine on is bad as it makes the bike explode, is this true?

Yes. I have to push my scooter to school whilst jogging alongside it.

I guess it would save on servicing costs Smile

Other useful things with the farings is it stops you feeling like your head being pulled off by the strong winds on the motorway, stops your expensive shinney engine bits getting road filth allover it and turning your bike into a 2 wheeled ball of brown fuzz.

No, just means you don't bother to clean those bits so they turn into balls of rust quicker, but they hide it so that you cannot see it.

depends if ya engine looks like a busted matress or not....Zuki's have good looking engines on the whole, so Bandits look good, but just think of the mess that is the Tuono...oh dear, still want one but thats a fuggin ugly engine... Laughing

Cool? Nah it just hides old, corroded, badly maintained CBR600 engines, which the lazy owners cant be bothered to clean.
