RS speedo cable

i was on my way home earlier and i came to a straight road it was late (10pm ish) so i was going about 65-70 i looked up looked down and speedo said 0.
could it be a bearing or snapped cable?

On an RS it is 90% likely to be the speedo drive, which is the bit the cable goes in to by the front wheel.
