Hello to one and all

Since sucessfully getting through my CBT in one piece, I now require a 125. Not much to ask is it? However, I'm having problems finding a suitable beast!!

I am looking to pay £800 max, MOT and tax a bonus, not much immediate work required and basically something easy to learn on. I have considered the NSR, TZR and AF1 and quite like the look/shape/size of them all, but not had much luck in finding ones in the right condition or at the right price. I was previously looking to spend more and had my heart set on a black NSR but have since decided to lower my budget and widen my options (or not, as the case may be!)

I'm still very new to bikes in general and will consider ANY 125 which meets my requirements. If anyone can help me, either with suggestions on makes/models that I may not be aware of, or if you have one for sale which you think I might like, I will be very grateful.

I'm getting a bit disheartened by my search already - please help!!

Thanks for reading Smile

What your looking at like NSR's etc are always going to cost a good buck or two. Race replica things, gears etc.

for £800 you could get what i have. a Gilera DNA 125. They have stopped making them now. They have no gears but are piss easy to ride, comfy, fast enough and look like a bike.

The lads here will cry boo, but there you go. The Yamaha TZR125 is you next best bet i think. A lot older, but has gears etc.

There is the Honda City Fly 125, but thats ugly i think.

Congrats on the CBT though! 2 years nearly since i did mine... i should do that license before it runs out!

P.S. Meeeyoowww.... Hot hot hot... People from stoke talk funny though. Meeeyoowww to your friends too Very Happy

Please note that she did say she wanted a bike to learn on, how would a rev and go help her to learn gears if and when she may decide she wants to do her test and get a bigger bike! Rolling Eyes

I think the tzr will be good for learning on, you can also get something in good condition for £800 and will be a good introduction into biking. They are easy to ride and once your used to it they have plenty of pope to have fun on and show up some nova's Wink .

Loads of cheap tzr's sell on ebay. Also check out other 125's as you can get a bargain.

Are you set on having the NSR sportsbike type style layout? They seem to commmand a fair amount of money, but if you're prepared to ride round on a commuter, they are generally cheaper to buy. A little slower perhaps, I could happily get 70 out of my SR-125, my KH is running at 65, but I need to release the front brake and finish cleaning the engine out, so expecting 70 from that. I know that all these NSR peeps rave about their 100MPH, but personally, I have no desire to belt at 100MPH on the roads on a 125...

E-Bay is good if you find a good seller. Check out your local bike dealerships and ask to see the part exchanges. Its amazing what you can pick up if you ignore all the shiny stuff in the show room.
