Well i've just caught up to some little scrotes who i've seen kicking my fence in again. Not the first time they've done it as i've seen the same lot do it a few times now at least 3-4 times in the last 3 months. Had a some 'stern' words with them... something along the lines of seen your faces lads, watch your backs.

Just rang non emergency number for GMP to report it and ask for advice and response was, i can 'detain' them if they do it again which i interpret as i can grab hold of one as they are committing a crime. Now these 4 kids are around 12-14yrs old and we've all read these nightmare stories in the papers about people being then charged with assault for trying to stop a crime. Just wondering what the best course of action is? the scrotes can't be that untouchable? i was half tempted to knock the tall one out to wipe the smirk off his face.

I think detaining them may be tricky. If you think you might be tempted to assault them in the process, I'd leave it.

Or if you do assault them, don't ring the police to report your offence afterwards.

Put up a big plank of wood supported on its own directly behind the fence. Out of this plank have a row of 6 inch nails poking out. Then drill small holes in the fence and align them perfectly with the nails behind but so the tips of the nails are level with the front of the fence, not poking out. Wait for aforementioned scrote to impale his foot.

Thats the thing though i've no problem in grabbing one and just holding the little fucker there till the popo turn up. Its more if the others decide to 'have a go' to free the other that i may snap and punch/kick their lights out.

Hook some good old fashioned chicken wire up to the mains via a 240 volt repeater they put on cattle fences. enough to give them a damn good shock, not enough to kill. Place it around the edge of the fence with an electricity sign... that way they cant complain they didnt know if its clearly signposted

If you chose to detain one, then make sure that you have at least another bloke there with you. Only takes one of these lil bastards to pull a knife and stab you in the kidney....

Ensure that someone is in your house video taping the whole thing, that way if any claims are made against you, you have video evidence to back it up.

Ensure you log dates and times of all offences (go fill in a little notepad right now of previous dates)

SHOW you have taken reasonable steps to log the incidents, ask for a reference number from the Police when reporting the crime and take the details of the individual who said you would be within your rights to detain them.

On a personal note, break one of there noses, do it without warning and do it quickly...shock and awe....they wont expect it and will throw them right off guard then make it clear that next time you see them it will be with a transit van, a ski mask and a bag of lime.

I had a similar problem with local scrotes - after a 10 year old told my wife to 'fuck off you stupid old cunt' for politely asking them not to kick our fence etc i lost my rag a little.
I went out, the same lad told me to 'fuck off, you can't do nothin', so i pushed him off his bike, picked his bike up and threw it into the road and told him in no uncertain terms that if i ever saw him here again there would be trouble.
Later that day i got a visit from one of the dads of the scrotes (not the one i'd pushed over) - he tried to threaten me with a claw hammer, saying his kids would do whatever they wanted. I told him to either a)make good with his threats of 'I'll stick this hammer in your fucking head', or b)fuck off. He fucked off, still repeating his (empty) threat as he went.
Nice bloke, not difficult to see why his kids are such delinquent arseholes really.



(The parents of the scrote i pushed over later apologised to my wife for their son's conduct, gave me their address and phone number and told us if we ever saw him around our way again we should contact them straight away and they would kick his arse for me.)

just a thought, should you get injured whilst detaining said scrote and doing the polices job for them, would you be able to claim compo out of the police system as they were the ones that advised you to put yourself in a dangerous situation?

I reckon the best way to do it is to get some long cable ties/zip ties and use them as temp hand/leg cuffs, hog tie him on the pavement leaving you free to deal with any that come back!

Photos, video and call the police every day (it makes your post code fo red on their puter). If so moved to defend your property get a "proper" witness (e.g. one who will say you were defending yourself. As before be prepared for a visit form dad, again take a photo of him, show him the camera that is filming and recording him. Mostly they hate having their anonymity broken, cowards.

some interesting replies here... i suppose the simple option would be just to log and report, and hope that the police bother doing anything. Which to be honest i doubt will amount to much.

Brewer, funny you should say that, ive actually got some of those large cable ties knocking about which i can never figure out what to use them for. Im stronger and faster than these scrotes so no problem holding them. But it does make wonder the likelyhood it would be seen as self defence when a 12 year old decides to attack you and you give them a smack in the teeth. Different story obviously if its an adult.

i was at a mates house near the end of last year having a meeting of a few of us 8-9 people just drinking having a good time etc until there comes a group of scrotes started kicking the house fence, the door and their car.

so he called the police, a full time station is a 10 minute drive away going 30 so if they came with blues and twos what 5 ish minutes, anyways they never came after we were told they were dispatching a unit.

then comes the smash of glass from the car window right my turn to phone them now, i just plainly told them i think one of them has a gun.

5 minutes later there is 2 cars and 4 coppers outside the house

if your having trouble with the cops just say you think oen has a gun, could be a BB or shotgun if you say gun they will actually do something.

Have had to detain someone for work reasons. Had protesters try cutting thier way through a fence. I tackled them to the floor (since they resisted) and held them in the guard room for the police to deal with.

We're trained to do it on guard, and although we're armed, same thing applies.

The key phrases are: Reasonable force and minimum necessary force.

If someone starts pushing me, it's reasonable to take them to the floor. It's not reasonable for me to punch/kick/shoot them.

Ergo, if they aim a weapon at me or a colleage, it's reasonable for me to shoot them.

i had a similar problem while living in a tower block, not fence kicking but general rowdiness and abuse on the landing, after 6 months of asking nicely, then not do nicely then foning the old bill, with no results....(tossers) i got my lads pump action water pistol, filled it with piss and went out and soaked the little fuckers, only had to do it twice, problem solved, did get a little abuse from one of their parents, but that got dealt with in an adult way
