ye box hill motorcyles have 1, but personally if i were to get a street bike, i would get a 600 and not a 250 which wont go any faster than an NSR!

From my visit to Boxhill MC's a while ago i left with the impression it was the same speed as the NSR. It's a four-cylinder 250 so it gets as much power as poss while still having the advantages of a 4-stroke. I prefer the VTR250, which is 33hp, but the hornet is quicker.

As TJ said, I wouldn't bother.

Were you looking at the DR350?.... I'm sure that would be more fun to ride or the dr350 engined goose... while both have a little less power they probably make it at over half the rpm and should have a fair bit more tourque...
The Hornet will probably rev to just under 20,000 rpm! and make around 45hp.

20,000 are you serious/ i am looking at a number of options at the moment but it was just an idea coz it sounds like fun, while it lasts i guess. yeah i still drool over a dr 350 but id preffer not to get a crosser again because the dirt tyres are shit on wet greasy roads. unless you can get more road based tyres for the dr. but the dr was king of the trail bikes and that means off-road tyres.

Yeah probably actually 19000-19500 redline but they'll definatley rev to 20k! I find a 400 feels a bit 'gutless' unless you're really pushing it so I'd hate to think what a only slightly lower weight 250 would be like.

they have gotten really popular over here lately, now that nsr's and rs's are impossible to own
it is i think, the best lookin street figter about, it looks like a 600, but wheezes like a 250
they have 38 bhp i think, usin an altered version of the cbr250 engine and 5 gears if i remember
the do about 105 top, and accelerate slightly quicker than nsr
if u have an nsr dont bother-if not then why the hell not

so what group is a cbr 250 in then? it has to be more affordable that 3.5 grand for tpo on a suzuki sv650. so you see thats why im fairly limited for choice £700 for a dr350 tpft il prob just go for that. But any body know if i can get road tyres for it like the big kawasaki crossers have and the drz

One of my mates has a hornet 250 - 18k redline and 'just' an indicated 100mph. Personally, I wouldnt bother. Its too heavy for a 250 so doesnt move too well. Batman - it does have 6 gears.

look at the VTR 250 and the goose 350 - both bikes built around the engine so it'll feel much nicer than a 250 hornet which is a 250 engine dropped into basically a 600 frame.
also the imports look different, so you can feel special.

hornet insurance will be cheaper than cbr because its unfaired, but i wouldn't go for a cbr 250. would you feel happy sitting on something that redlines at about 20,000 rpm.

AFAIK the 250 hornet was only ever 'grey' imported... but then it does look the same as the 600.

G's right, it is a grey import and yes, it does indeed look the same as the 600.

Sorry mate, but could you please tell me what your poll choices are supposed to represent? Confused

...is one them supposed to be "better" than the other?
