my bike isn't taxed/insured yet, i wanna be able to ride it saturday so can i tax it without insurance (before saturday)

I have the v5 tearoff slip (bikes only just bought) and my MOT certificate, is that all I need to get it taxed?

also, when i get off the phone to the insurance company is my bike then insured?

You only need the V5/2 or V5 (you've got that) and your MOT cert to get tax.

Then as soon as your insurance company have your money, you'll be insured. They will tell you usually, however, ask them if you want to be sure.

You need insurance first before tax, you are insured 10 minutes after you hang up.

No M1ke's right, they want you're insurance. Oh, just thought, you'll need your cover note - ask the company if they can send it out special delivery (there next morning), they will probably charge a fiver for it, but you'll definately be sorted for the weekend. My cover letters usually take about a week otherwise Crying or Very sad

Its only Tuesday, if its not going to arrive till next week, they ain't sending it out till the end of the week. Ask them if they can special deliver for tomorrow (That's what ExIon RedStar did for me - as I say, cost a fiver but needed it for taxing the bike)

Oh well, guess its a loan bike for the day, still at least if you stack it, you don't have to worry about having damaged your bike...

You can insure your bike without a CBT.

Ring up your insurance company now and tell them that you would like to arrange insurance to start on Saturday, when you will have your CBT.

Get a cover note by Saturday, take it with the MOT, V5/2 and V10 tax application form (don't forget this..) on Saturday afternoon after your CBT and get the tax. This obviously won't work if you want to ride your bike for the CBT, but how would you get it to the CBT location without a licence anyway.

Enjoy the bike!

Use their bike, if you drop it no-one will care Very Happy It's not worth risking your own bike, dude. I took my CBT on my new NSR and nearly dropped it on the cone thing Shocked

Good luck with the CBT
