I need to up-jet the carb on my tzr because it has had a 70cc big bore kit fitted.

Anyone know how to alter the 2 stroke oil mixture?

Im told its a screw on the oil pump which I need to unscrew to allow more oil through.

Neutral

Just need more specific details.

Thanks. Thumbs Up Karma

Get a picture of the oil pump. If it's like the one on my RX-S I will be able to help.

If it's like mine it should be on the right hand side of the engine under a cover.

Why do you need to re-jet?

i.e. why does a 70cc kit mean you need to run richer? Confused

Its common to up jet with a new zorst, but I've not heard of it with a big-bore ..

Remember by upjetting you are increasing the fuel to air ratio, not allowing the bike to pump more fuel (at the 'correct' ratio) .. for that you will need larger throttle openings or a larger carb ...

I was told when you fit a 70 kit you need to upjet the stock carb or fit a bigger carb.

Assuming the stock carb would be a 'choke point' (pardon the pun) as say it is quite restrictive/small, I can see putting a bigger carb on would be a good idea (you now have the ability to pump more CC's per rev, you need to be able to let more CCs of air in, a bigger carb will allow greater flow of air (and consequent proportional fuel)) if you want to reap the full benefits of the extra CCs ... but I reiterate, I don't really see how changing the fuel/air ratio on the original carb is going to help/be required ...

Anyway - although I am not sure of the wisdom of up-jettiing - I digress slightly ... I can indeed see there might be a bit of a requirement for a smidge more oil though (as you now have more piston/barrel area) ... so in answer to the original question .. as someone else said, take a photo of the pump and we can then tell you how to adjust for extra flow!! Thumbs Up
