R.I.P Jeremy Lusk the whole of the bike community salutes you.

Professional freestyle motorcycle rider Jeremy Lusk died Monday of injuries sustained in a crash in Costa Rica.



Pete Thomas of the Los Angeles Times reports that Lusk, who was from Temecula, died in a hospital in San Jose, Costa Rica, late Monday night, surrounded by his wife, his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law and several fellow riders.

Rider Myles Richmond, who also participated in the event in Costa Rica, told ESPN.com his version of what happened:

The event went on. I actually made top four in the finals, so we had to ride again. I couldn't go out there and do my regular run, so I just basically went out and did some whips. The riders were just in disbelief. We all know how tough Jeremy is and we were just trying to stay positive, but it was tough. We knew how bad his injury was, but we just didn't want to believe what had just happened. ... I thought that if anyone was invincible, it was Jeremy.
