Remove the rocker arm that the thread is stuck in, take it to an engineering shop and get them to remove it, then get a new bolt in there.

Cheers
John

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance.

Was probably Torqued down to much or Faulty bolt

Best way to remove it is to take the head off which will leav enough to get hold of to remove Thumbs Up

Did the same thing myself. Managed to get it out with a hammer and a screw just hitting the edge of the bolt on a ridge and turning it a bit at a time. eventually got enough showing to get grips on and screw it out. If its in real tight you will be fucked i think.

Get a 4mm reverse drill bit and drill the centre of the bolt that's stuck. It might just spin it out. If it doesn't then stick a screw extractor in the hole you drilled.

Superdream?

In any case first get a new rocker-cover bolt. Then try to pick the broken bit out carefully. If you can't get it out, remove the rocker carrier from the head and drill the bugger out. I can't recall if that is threaded right through, but if it is just use a 3.5 or 4mm bit and drill from below, it should wind the bolt out no problem. Don't run the bike with the broken bit in there coz if it winds down onto the can it might ruin it. Looks like an easy repair I reckon I could get that out no problem.
