I paid £18 for a 6 foot Oxford chain and lock.
Like Laura said though, if someone wants your bike they will take it regardless, we just have to make it as difficult as we can. ____________________ Too skint to buy a bike |

My mum had just been out and bought a chain to secure a gate, complete with padlock, that looked almost identical to the square bikes chains in most bike shops. Rather than being £80, it was £19.99!
It's now used to chain up my bike in the garage.
I was a bit dubious at first, but then went at looked at the ones in my local bike shop and it's identical, and a little bit thicker in the links! Bonus!
PS: Bought it from a country/farm type place, farmers don't like stuff being nicked anymore than bikers do, and they like paying less too! ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP

^^^^ What laura said.
New honda goldwing, 2nd day of ownership, 2 ground anchors with huge locks and chains, imobiliser, disc lock, allarm, parked behind two cars...
The next morning, gone, the only sign of it being there are the scrape marks where the CRANE dragged along the top of the cars.
If they want it they will have it, however if you have a bike thats not particuarly rare or expensive only opertunists will go for it... but still mine is garraged, has a grip lock, allarm, hidden kill switch and a big lock for when its sitting idle for a while or going with me to festivals and the like...
A pro would have it away quickly but a scumbag who can't be **** to walk home wouldn't bother. ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

I rely just on the steering lock! I have even left the keys in the ignition in central London and its been there 8 hours later... Still I have a dodgy sensor on the side stand, so of you put it in gear, it stalls ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |
