Riding home from work about 8-9pm, long dark road coming up to a fairly major roundabout, I see a big van with a spinning orange light on it, hmmmm what could it be? At first I thought one of those dennis fire engines because of the shape.

Im level with it, oh sh1t, its yellow, whats that noise....
Fvck, its a gritter. I was wearing about 5 tops but only a pair of jeans on my legs and fvck, ouch! Been riding for 30 minutes in freezing cold weather and bam, loads of sharp rocks come flying at me.

Not nice experience at all. For a while, my foggy mask was broken and had to have visor open a bit, god forbid what could have happened. Ahh, salt in my eyes.

Anyone else been attacked by the evil flying salt?

Yep came up behind one on some corners a little fast and got a bit to close with the visor up so pulled back with a face full of it, then when I took over it after the corners pulled it back shut the visor, BIG mistake totaly covered in crap so I was doing 90 up to a corner with no vision but the street lights and good knowledge of the road and just managed to make it whilst franticly wiping my visor.

i came up behind a gritter lorry once at bout 3 in the morning, but the worst thing is i had no gloves on for some reason or another.
