What should i wear to my interview with JD sports

Desperate times call for desperate mesures so i have applied for a ob at JD sports, no offence to anyone who works for them but i cant think of a company i would want to work for less, ok mayby primark, but only just.

I have my interview on thursday and i dont really know what to wear, obviously being a sports shop the staff where tracksuit bottoms and trainers and then the JD top, i think if i went to the interview in the full suit it would be a little OTT no? mayby jeans and a shirt, i dont really know if im honest.

Opinions please.

I'd go full suit, I did when I got a job with currys (lol) a while back, the other applicants all turned up in various attire (lets say 'scruffy')

You can never really be too overdressed for an interview, but you can be underdressed.

My attitude it to wear a suit to any job interview. First impressions count.

Dress for the job you want not the one you have......not to sure how that would appy here but you get ym drift.

Full suit if you own one, shows your serious about the job and your able to make an effort, remember its the manager your trying to impress and he has not gven you a uniform yet

Another vote for the suit.
May seem a little old fashioned but then a certain 'uniform' is expected.
Once you get the job (any job) you can adjust your attire to suit the environment/colleagues/management/etc.

A quick reminder too, polish your shoes.
It's just another little indication you can take care of yourself and remember the little things.
It can make a difference (whether it should or not is for another thread).

reebok classics, kappa tracksuit bottoms (with bottom of them tucked into white sport socks), umbro polo shirt and a burberry cap.

accessorise with sovereign rings, gold chains and if possible turn up in a saxo or corsa (with loud zorst and bangin' tunez)

I agree with the suit bit but if you feel that that is a bit OTT just smart shirt and trousers as a minimum. Make sure you look clean, have a shave, do your hair etc.

Suit might be a touch OTT, but hey, it probably won't hurt.

For retail till-jockeying jobs I've usually opted for shirt and trousers, no tie. Anything else is full suit (the exception being my pub job, where I turned up in black shirt, black jeans to see if they were hiring and got an interview (and the job) on the spot

When I did interviews, I have done thousands of the buggers, I would be looking for effort. If you only have shirt and pants I would be looking for clean shirt and pants, clean nails, hair and the like. Make sure your outfit is pressed too. A little knowledge of the place you want to work for and some questions too are good. Shows you are interested. Be honest too. I had a guy who just said that he wanted to work as he needed the money and would do anything from bin collecting to the top job. Gave him a job and he didn't let anyone down.

I did once give a lad a job who you could tell only came so he could stay on the social. Lad tried all sorts of things, but we just followed company policy and disciplined him until he was sacked and couldn't claim. Mean I know, but good fun.

I worked at 2 different JD sports branches for a while when i was 16/17. Most the guys that turned up looking for jobs and interviews where never in suits and most of the people who my manager took on were my trustworthy mates and their trustworthy mates....

But agree with most people here. It's an interview, so suit it is.

I'ld say minimm shirt, trousers and shoes.

At my interview at FatFace it was jeans and T shirt (but then they tell you not to wear a suit as its a very relaxed enviroment, and this is at the headquaters, not just a shop.)
