Are you sure you have charged the battery fully/correctly ??

How much power is the battery giving ?.
Have a check with a multimetre. ( Im just asuming you can do this )

More than 12v is ideal. . .
Any less and that is proberly your problem.

if the battery is fine but still wont start try jump leads. if this works it will be the kill switch on handlebar. happened twice to me with gs 650 and 850.
if not check the regulator/rectifier as the gs range always had probs with these.

These things may still work as they dont need anywhere near as much power as your starter motor.

Also check your starter solinoid, could be eroded with salt or something and need a clean. .

Yes you would have thought the battery would be okay, but you have ran it flat and sounds like it has died in the doing or you have not charged it right.
And the starter solinoid will click, even with very low power.

So no, you are not right in thinking they are okay. Well the starter is okay, just has no power, from either a not properly charged or dead batery.
Have you done whta chri5 said yet ?

The clue to the underlying problem is in your original statement

(sic) - please do learn how to spell properly

Ask yourself why it went flat - did you leave the ignition/lights on? Did the battery just gradually run out of juice? Did you use the starter a lot of times in succession?

It is my guess that there is a problem with the rectifier/charging circuit, and that has damaged your battery. You really do need to do those tests suggested by Chris5 and BioHazard.
