Cheap HJC helmets

Was in J&S in Watford today, tried on a few and these felt the best. They didnt have my size in the colour I wanted though.

Got home and found M&P were selling the same lid (CS-12) for £50 less at £30 delivered.

Seem to get good reviews for the £ and arent the worst of helmets according to SHARP...

I've a good few HJC helmets and really like them cause they fit me so well.

Stinkwheel is correct in that they are the largest helmet manufacturer in the world so they have to be doing something right.

Still its better than the carbon Schuberth S1 they have for £949.99!!

I have an HJC - think it might even be the cs-12 but with different graphics. I really like it, fitted me nicer than anything else in the shop and i tried on a good few of varying prices. Cost me a good bit more than £25 though! Will definately buy one tonight if they still have any left - cant remember what size i am and helmet is at home!!!

HJC seems like good stuff, only reason I'm not wearing one was a spate of sunvisor brakeages on the early FS-10s put me off.

I've got one - cost me £70 though from HG. It's been really good, it's reasonably quiet, it has good space around my ears for glasses, fits me well (which is the important bit I guess) and is reasonably well constructed.

I'm happy with it even for the money I paid, so if you can get them that cheap, then hell yes I'd be happy with one at that.

was £140 in Hein Gericke but i got 20% discount from 4theride.. very good helmet and a great fit for my XS head

internal sun visor, no wind inside even at 80mph and very comfortable.

seen a nice HJC in the shop i got my bike from, spring loaded sun visor, breath guard, anti fog visor and looks pretty cool too!
£130 but i get it for £115 cause i got my bike there...
girlfriends gonna get the same helmet with a pink n girly design

Crash tested a CS12 couple of years back. Visor got torn off after burying my head into the front of a van but my noggin was ok... i think...

I'm on my third CS-12 (actually will be fourth shortly). They are a great budget helmet. Not too bad on weight and pretty quiet too. Most come with a breath-guard. I'd reccomend one to anyone as a commuter-hack lid.

Got home and checked my size - i actually currently have a CS-R1 but for £25 decided to buy a new blue CS-12 as a spare

After trying on a great many helmets the only brand I can get to fit my head is a HJC. It's a really comfy lid and I can't fault them one little bit.

HJC's are good lids as long as you dont want any of the thrills.

Shells are all one size - so if you get a XS helmet, its the same as an XL but with loads of padding. They are noisy, heavy, and generaly not that comfortable to wear for long periods.

However, £30 for something to save your head cant be too bad

My FS-10 has been great. Nice and comfortable, has a removable lining, breath guard (easily clicks on an off, even with gloves on) and the extremely useful sun visor which can be used even on the move (I've done it at nearly 3 figure speeds before).

Helmets like Shoei's are obviously going to be much lighter weight than a HJC, but then they cost a lot more too.

I'm considering changing mine just because it doesn't match the new bike, but I think I would really miss the sun visor feature, shame more helmets don't have it.
