Erm Triumphs and Suzukis won't start without the clutch being pulled in even in neutral....
Don't worry at all about the bike not wanting to start unless the clutch is pulled, it sounds normal.
If the engine won't turn over then you might have some major engine damage. Perhaps a dropped valve or something equally nasty.
More info on the bike might help a bit too! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F

Hi
As MarJay says, Suzukis will not start unless the clutch is pulled, and plenty of other bikes will lock the starter motor out when you are in gear unless the clutch is pulled.
The problem with it turning over could easily be a hydraulic lock. Take the plugs out and then try to turn the engine over (but with the ignition off just in case it is full of petrol which might otherwise spray out and ignite). If the bike has been stood for a while then it is quite likely that the carbs up gunged up, so when the petrol is turned on when you have tried to start it, the fuel has just run straight though the carbs into the inlets.
All the best
