ok a couple of things, I am turning seventeen soon and have been saving for a bike for a while But I dont know what to get basically!
I am after something that looks good anyway. A sport bike to show off on basicaly. But my girl lives 80miles down the motorway from me so I need something that can handle round trips of this distance once a week. Would be using it every day too though
Should i be buying a 400-600(restrictd) or a 250? Any ideas on a bike specificaly?
Thanks

A two stroke would be a little too tempramental for motorway journeys IMO.
A 400cc sportsbike would be ok, depends on how big you are really. If you are tall, a 400 might be a bit cramped. Another alternative might be a Suzuki SV650.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

Your turning 17 soon? Are you going for your full test then? Since motorways and anything above a 125 are off limits otherwise.

While I am not sure, I think the 2 stroke is a more sporty/high end engine, meaning it will deliver faster speeds, but is more prone to, breaking/high maintanence, and a 4 stroke will offer you more torque/low end power, and reliability.
Or something to that effect, I think, but don't take my word for it ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>

get a 4-stroke the 2-strokes won`t restrict well and are higher maintainance , if your tall , big etc go for a 600 a older cbr600 or something , if you are small go for a 400 , fun little bikes .
Hope this helps. |

A 2 stroke 125 won't last very long if you're on motorways all the time, i went on dual carriage way for about 30miles and my bike felt like it was about to blow so i had to cruise at about 70mph in the end away from the redline.
A 400 will be quite expensive to insure for a 17 year old, especially a sporty 400. Is this going be your first bike as 1 years no claims bonus will help. You might have to consider a 250 4 stroke and get a sporty 400 when your 18. ____________________
